Inverse Estimation of Soil Hydraulic Parameters in a Landslide Deposit Based on a DE-MC Approach

Extreme rainfall is a common triggering factor of landslide disasters, for infiltration and pore water pressure propagation can reduce suction stress shear strength at the slip surface. The subsurface hydrological model an essential component in early-warning system rainfall-triggered landslides, whereas soil moisture simulated by Darcy–Richards equation could be significantly affected uncertainties hydraulic parameters. This study conducted inverse analysis situ measured earthquake-induced deposit, parameters were optimized with Differential Evolution Markov chain Monte Carlo method (DE-MC). DE-MC approach was initially validated synthetic numerical experiment to demonstrate its effectiveness finding true Besides, characteristic curve (SWCC) conductivity function (HCF) described parameter sets had similar shapes despite fact that may different. Such equifinality phenomenon inversely estimated parameters, however, did not affect performance dynamics experiment. application real case deposit also indicated satisfying terms accurate match between content ensemble simulations. In conclusion, based on posterior probability density (PDF) sets, specified prior suggested integration quantification unsaturated hydrology, which modeling strategy support landslides.
